Ponnivala HQ Welcomes Sathya Sai School

On Monday, June 23, Parthi Kandavel’s grade three class from Sathya Sai School came out to Ponnivala headquarters for an all-day field trip.

Despite the long drive (nearly two hours), the youngsters arrived full of energy and enthusiasm. The day started off with a meditation by the pond. During the afternoon, the class was divided, with some of the kids playing soccer and badminton, while others engaged in special workshops. Lead Ponnivala animator Ravi Chandran was on hand to show the kids how the animation and design software works, while special guests Gita Kolanad and Hans Wolfgramm taught and demonstrated some of the training that goes into the Indian martial art of Kalaripayattu.

After the demonstrations and workshops, the group took a fantastic hike out in the countryside. The ended the day with a visit to the nearby village of Gore’s Landing, where they enjoyed watching a local angler catching panfish off the dock. For kids from the city, it was an exciting and fascinating trip out to rural Ontario, and they’re all excited to visit again!
